The construction of the Barnsley Digital Media Centre is almost complete. The Digital Media Centre is a high quality incubation and acceleration centre which will support the birth, growth and development of creative and digital businesses in Barnsley and the sub-region.

The Centre will provide bespoke business services that will improve the opportunities for digital enterprises to start up, thrive and expand, increasing wealth creation and employment within the area.

The Digital Media Centre is a showcase project for Barnsley town centre that aligns completely with the objectives set out within the Masterplan ‘Re-making Barnsley’ by Architect Will Alsop. The building is designed to be a symbol of the future and to be unique and innovative in both form and function. The building is also designed to promote future flexibility and to be able to easily respond to change, both in the use of space and technology.

The Digital Media Centre acts as a regional demonstrator of efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability.
