Victoria Street Launch, Grimsby
The scheme is the second project to be delivered in the town and has seen all sections of the community come together to promote and celebrate its success.
The project includes new granite paving, bespoke lighting columns, a water feature and a wireless internet ‘hotspot'. The project also benefited from the participation of local school children, who worked with sculptors to translate the children's ideas into public art, sculpted into the new sandstone seating.
The launch of the project was a community event with local schools, families and business owners coming together for the day. The event was a huge success and included street entertainment, stalls, a steel band and even a Chinese dragon. The project was officially opened by the Mayor of Grimsby and the main highlights of the day were turning on the water feature and an opportunity to try your hand at sandstone sculpting.
Victoria Street Pedestrianisation
