The North Kirklees SDIF was officially launched in February.

The document identifies the development and regeneration opportunities in this key area of West Yorkshire. Kirklees Council hosted a ‘Flames and Fountains' event in the centre of Dewsbury where special preview plans for the future of North Kirklees were unveiled. Crowds gathered for a procession of music and dance through the town centre streets before reaching a truly spectacular finale when the Town Hall transformed into a giant fountain, complete with opera-singing human statues and fireworks!

The SDIF had a full commercial launch later in February, where the consultants unveiled the transformational proposals for the future of the area.
