Scarborough's Harbour Transformed

3rd October, 2007
Scarborough, Harbour Improvements

Scarborough's Harbour has been transformed; where once there was empty, derelict space there is now top quality public realm.

York stone flags and setts now surface the entire Harbour area with bespoke sculptural seating and laminated timber lamp columns. Glass beads bonded into the surface of the Lighthouse Pier glisten in the sunlight and at night the restaurants and cafes are illuminated by a world class lighting scheme.

A Marina has been created in the still waters of the Inner Harbour and visiting craft are welcomed. Alongside it all sits Scarborough's fishing fleet. Look out for the Diving Belle at the end of the Lighthouse Pier and look forward to a new Marina being created in the Outer Harbour next to a new on-shore facilities building.
