One of the first RMT towns, Northallerton joined the RMT programme in 2003 and continues to work on projects identified in the Delivery Plan.

One project has been the construction of a new, purpose-built factory building to allow Chopsticks, a social enterprise in Northallerton, to secure its future and expand. The new facility will allow Chopsticks to double its work-based training service to approximately 60 full time adults with learning disabilities. The expansion will also create several new jobs within the organisation itself.

Work is moving forward on a project to create high quality dedicated managed workspace in Northallerton for new businesses.
