One the first RMT towns, Skipton joined the RMT programme in 2004. Skipton town team is currently putting together a package of projects. This will potentially include a grant scheme for redundant upper floors of town centre buildings and a cycle way to link the out of centre office development underway at Gargrave Road. Talks are also underway with Leeds Metropolitan University about taking forward the development of an ‘Adventure Centre'. Rural Target Fund projects include improvements to the tin bridge over the river, to improve the appearance and pedestrian safety.
